  1. I am shocked that this is even a thing that needs to be discussed. Women arent having as many children because they feel they cant find a man who is on the same level with them. Add to that the business competition where men now not only have to compete with each other but also with women now, who in many industries get preferential treatment, it makes it harder for men to get to that level for their peer women. And those same men will happily marry a woman who makes much less than them, while the inverse is not true. I have a niece who is going through this right now and its heartbreaking. A smart and intelligent woman will not have children until she feels safe and secure. But our current social environment makes that extremely hard. Meanwhile the maladjusted women still do whatever.

  2.  @LucasFernandez-fk8se  Sexual dynamics have changed. Those same dynamics would prevent a baby boom. And one might argue any sort of exceptional economy.

  4. How do you square that circle. If every woman is having two kids in Sweden and your fertility rate is 1.5 that means one in four women isnt having any kids if two is the norm. 25% isnt a rounding error. Does this number just reflect ethnic Swedes or even the immigrants and migrants?
