  1. My great grandmother was an anti suffragette. She would go out and protest. Her diary, and her fears for the future during that time period, read like a modern political handbook. A lot of people understood exactly what would happen if women got the vote. But you wont be able to put that genie back into the bottle until everything collapses.

  3.  @AndrewJohnson-n3m  yes, but even a foolish or tyrannical monarch will eventually die. Bureaucracies tend to outlast even dynasties. Both are dangerous, but its clear which is the lesser of two evils. And when you combine modern technology, bureaucracy becomes an absolute totalitarian nightmare that would make Hitler, Stalin and Mao giggle with envy.
