It started with the Global War on Terror. It pretty much shut down opium and heroine traffic world wide. People switched to prescription opioids and many companies like you showed, were only to happy to oblige. Now people like me, after having 5 back surgeries, cant get any pain management medications because doctors are to scared the FDA is going to pull their medical license. I know a lot of people who have chronic pain that use illegal drugs simply to manage through their life. Its not just addicts, though I would imagine a lot of people would call them addicts.. But I also think there is an evolutionary thing here. I was on Oxy for 5 years, they stopped it, zero withdrawal issues. Just a crap ton more pain. A lot of people had the same issues with alcohol in the late 1800s because of how powerful alcohol became with new brewing techniques. But most of them died off, now folks can, generally speaking, handle their drink better.
