  1. Filipinas have long wanted to come to the Land of the Big PX. All Filipinos can join the US military for US citizen ship. Its why you see so many in the US Navy. But for the women thats not really socially acceptable. Family is. But its different the western families, we arent talking about the nuclear family. All family is family. Grandma, grandpa, cousins, aunties, uncles, third cousins, etc etc. It can be overwhelming for some, emotionally, physically and financially for some. Things are still difficult in some places in PI. I remember being welcomed into peoples homes there were a literal collection of pallets tied together with rope and covered in boxes and/or aluminum. Electricity is with a power cord wired into a electrical poll. Water is with a garden hose. Real poverty is a thing. That forces families together. And it shows in the culture. But overall good people and very good food. That said the women there do not like weak men. I would say they are worse to them than women here in the US. Women here just ignore them. Weak men in the PI are verbally shamed.
