Back when Reagan was shot when they got him to the hospital, he told his detail he wanted to walk out to make sure America and the Soviets knew he was ok. As soon as he got in the Emergency room though he collapsed to the floor. Trump is old enough to remember that. And knows how important image is. This is scary stuff, he knew if he didnt show he was ok, this could go sideways very quick.
