  1. This is what actual cultural appropriation is. In Japan context is everything. Westerners dont get that. That said, I dont think Unisoft intentionally copied this particular tori. I think some artist thought it would look cool and worked in their little model very well. But you cant do that in Japan. Everything means something. And the fact that Ubisoft didnt check and just assumed it would be ok is the issue. If you are going to be pulling from other cultures you need to understand what you are pulling and the ramifications and limitations of that. Or you might just insult or offend someone for real, not just some Karen.
