  1. "military is where we waste a lot of our money." Military spending is between 11-14% of total government spending. A lot of folks think we spend much more on in relative to our total spending than we do. We spend more on servicing the national debt than we do on our military now. Social services(SSI, Medicare and Medicaid) account for 64% of Federal spending. That said there is a lot of fraud waste and abuse in the military. Imagine how much is in the other places.
