There was a story that was required reading in the 80s and 90s in the US in junior high, Animal Farm. In that story, which was about communism, there was a horse. This horse, whose name was Boxer, was incredibly strong, loyal and believed he worked for the betterment of the whole farm. He would work harder than any animal. But eventually exhausted and worn down from the endless, and thankless, toil he was sent to the Knacker, to be made into glue so the pigs could have whiskey because Boxer was no longer "pulling his weight" on the farm. Thats whats happened to many men. And those left have seen it and will not let it happen to them. I am not really sure why more people cant see this. But Animal Farm isnt required reading in schools anymore. I wonder why?
