Just what i want, the Federal government involved in police. How about the voters pull their heads out of their rears and start holding their elected leaders accountable at the local community. Part of this is the media's fault focusing on Federal elections so much. Our founders always intended local and state elections to be the most important. We need to get back to that.

how do you have national standards when its the fault of the local governments and the voters who elect them to hold anyone to any standards.

@shayanise its not the Federal governments say. You may not have read the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution. So I will put it in my response. "Amendment X The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." This means its the responsibility of the people in those localities, aka "the voters", that have police that overstep their legally granted authority to control them. Either people are responsible or they arent. And if they arent, why are they allowed to vote to create these political messes in the first place. And make no mistake about it, whats going on in Memphis is due to the politics that goes on there.

@carljohnson2194 who votes for the government? Thats part of being a responsible adult. You make choices you see how those choices effect the environment. If its not in a way that you like you change your choices. Or are you saying the people in Memphis are being lorded over by some tyrannical oppressive regime? If thats the case I know there will be a lot of liberty loving people, myself included who would be down to assist the people in Memphis. Though I doubt thats the case.

We already have that, the FBI

As a old ass non serviceable Marine, you couldnt pay me to police some of these communities. Change city policies that actually punish criminals you might get some cops who are willing to risk policing those areas.

10th Amendment says the Feds can F right off.

The problems is in places like memphis all the good cops have left because of decades of policies that just dont work. And the voters dont hold the elected officials accountable. So then the only cops you have left are bad ones. The end question is do you want bad cops or no cops

While I am not a fan of qualified immunity I think with the policies in many cities you would very quickly find zero officers willing to police and end up with war torn cities. Most cities cant be policed because horrible city policies for decades have been allowed to run unchecked de to massive infusions of money from the Feds.
