And the people responsible for securing all this "required" info who dont protect it properly never are punished with failing their jobs. Hackers would have been smarter to tell the school district we will change everyone's grades to F's so you lose all your state and Federal funding. Thats what they care about. Not student or parent information.

@ericeandco not the point. These school districts require all sorts of info being stored and complied. There is no reason why that has to be stored on a networked computer. If they are going to require that information to be stored, they need to be legally responsible for it. When I worked in a hospital I was personally responsible for ANY HIPAA information that was released to inappropraite sources. Each occurrence I would be subjected to a $15000 dollar penalty. Why shouldnt they? Because they are a part of the government?

@ericeandco A similar thing happened with a VA worker who had tens of thousands of veterans IDs on his computer when it was stolen out of the back seat of his vehicle. One of those persons info was mine. He still works for the VA. Not even a letter in his file. There is zero accountability in government.

I mean they did say this was content and not news. Maybe it never was news, always content.

@crishernandez5828 Every high school district in American has a website where all the forms have to be emailed and sent to. Every school in the US is vulnerable to this.
