  8. People conflate Chivalry with French Romance era court culture. The two are not even related except that during that period men of high status were required to abide by both sets of rules, one on the battlefield, the other while at court. The code of Chivalry was a system that granted rights and privileges to those under the code. So if you were a knight and were fighting another knight on a field, you could yield, then the victorious night had the right to all your possessions on the field, but your family had the right to secure your life via ransom. It was looked down upon and many knights lost social standings and titles for outright killing other knights who yielded. The code was an attempt to control the endemic warfare that existed at the time. And it did NOT extend to common men, women or even children.

  9. With the wedding, you reserve that stuff sometimes a year in advance and after a certain date its non refundable. All the flowers and food, they are going to charge you because they have to order it probably a few months ahead of time to make sure its there the day of. So if you cut that check, its already gone. On the other hand, traditionally, the wifes family pays for the wedding. So maybe the princess just screwed her marriage, her relationship with her pregnant sister and her parents too.

  10. Back in the long long ago in the 1900s when I was a young buck and stationed at 29 palms, junior enlisted marines were not allowed to even go within a mile of base housing. The women, both the spouses and daughters were of such loose morals that they would take anything. Tremors E club was always filled with them on $1.00 beer pitcher fight night on Thursdays. Man, getting old sucks. The only thing worse is not getting old. Stay safe brothers.

  11. Your little schpeal there at the end was good. It just comes down to a lack of discipline. In a time of unlimited excess and zero material want, discipline is incredible hard to track on let alone master. Thats why most men start in the gym, its tangible. Its why I make my sons do squats, flutter kicks and pushups whenever they screw up instead of locking them down. All three are gym 6 days a week now. Semper Fi Liked and subscribed.

  15. My late teens and 20s were a blast. I was in the Corps traveling the world. When I came back to the states in the late 90s things had already started to change. My 30s and early 40s blew by with the GWOT, marriage and kids. Now in my late 40s its fun again. Your life is what you make it. Make it what you want.

Personally I dont have an issue with anyone removing a dental device before eating.   36. Population has already collapsed. But there is a lag period of 60-80 years. Even in the few African nations with a above replacement fertility rate, their numbers are dropping by half every generation. The US itself hasnt had positive fertility rate since 1972. But there is hope, as things roll over, society will be forced to revert. Additional things like AI will lead to a white collared, college education, job apocalypse. Society will have to restructure just like it did in the late 60s early 70s. That combined with certain political segments of the country are massively out reproducing others. The future will come on its own.

  47. All those single women will be amazing fodder for military service. By 2024 if enlistments dont pick up they are going to need to reinstate the draft to keep numbers as they are. But the truth is there arent enough young men who are fit to serve. So women will have to make out the remainder.

  48. This idea that women outside the US are more traditionally minded baffles me. I have traveled all over the world, been on 6 of the 7 continents and over 70 countries. I can say that this just isnt true. Women are who they are made to be. Ask yourself if women are so conservative in Asian nations that Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, India, and Thailand all have fertility rates below 2.1. (those are just the ones I have been to and can name off the top of my head as far as fertility rates go.) These women arent being traditional women. I mean in Korea only 1 in 4 women has a child, just one child. Societies like that will die. And apparently the men are ok with that. Who wants to import a culture like that, I certainly wouldnt want to marry it and bring it into my home.

  50. With mortgages you can shelter income with the tax write offs, so its not always bad. From 27 to 45 I literally paid zero in Federal Income taxes because of it. That said a 30 year mortgage is the best kind. You can choose how much more over it you pay every month. Best two ways is making bi monthly payments, it reduces the interest a lot during the month. But also simple paying an extra or 13th month per year will take off a lot of time on that mortgage as well as interest.
