The house I sold in California in 2021 has seen the tax payment on the house go from $2900 (the last year I owned it) to $6500. Thats an extra 300 bucks a month that the purchaser has to pay. Also the home is in a flood zone and as the state hasnt kept up with the levies, my old neighbor said they raised rates 17%. On top of this you have millions of Americans with student loan debt, over 10 million who owe over 40k. The average loan payment is about $400 a month. And their deferment ends this month or at the latest, in September.

@deborahcurtis1385 There is less than a zero percent chance of that happening. No way they forgive student loan debt. Only Congress can. And if they didnt do it when the party that cries about it held the House, the Senate and the White House, its never going to happen. I 100% agree with you about stagflation. With the change in demography, labor prices will remain high, but there will still be a lot of job cuts. And States need their pensions funded so taxes wont drop. Especially California.
