  1. I am unsure if they will be able to get the unemployment to spike like in previous recessions. The reason why is there are not enough young workers to replace all the boomers who are retiring. At the same time you are seeing a reshoring of many industries post covid. This means wage inflation is to be expected and probably wont be controllable. This is what happens when you dont have enough children for 3 generations. Eventually the last large generation retires. This says nothing for the roughly 7 million working age men, like myself who are no longer working. In my case I am 47 and retired. I am done with the rat race. No amount of money will get me to return to be abused. The tax burden makes it not worth it. As for the stock market, a lot of the money coming is from panicking state funded retirement schemes, calPERs being the largest. Most of them are short so much money that they are going to bankrupt states. They MUST have returns. The only way to get that is to gamble in the market.
