  1. Only thing the US can do is gut the military and nationalize health care, or at the very least limited profit margins ( I am not saying I am for this). Both of those things would have significant ramifications though. The biggest issue is that folks didnt pay enough in taxes to SSI and Medicare and congress just kept expanding Medicaid. MIT said over a decade ago that 2040, according to their financial models, would be the year that the US failed. Looks like we are right on track. That said no one is going to vote to cut social services or the military by any significant amount because Federal government spending is already 24% of GDP. It will hit 37% by 2029, thats 5 years. Even if a politician does choose to cut spending, we are looking at a decades long depression. Americans are to short sighted to endure that, most simply cant. Buy guns ammo and land. And learn to farm. Build a trusted small community. You have a decade.
