Perhaps you have not looked at demography. No one is getting married and few are having kids. There are more women in the US now that have their first child in their 40s than have their first child in their 20s. By 2030, close to half of all women are expected to NEVER have children. The people you think will need housing wont exist. And once the boomers die off the actual total population in the US will look much much different.

@ClickLikeAndSubscribe foam insulation is easy to put in and with multi split ac units those are non issues. If you wanted to be really anal about it you could take off the weather boards and wrap the house just like a modern one. then replace the exterior boarding. Relatively non expensive if one does it themselves, though time consuming.
