Egypt is no different when it comes to the imploding fertility numbers. In 1980 an Egyptian woman had 6 kids. Today she has only three. That is a 50 percent decline in total fertility. If that happens again over the next 40 years Egypt will be at 1.5 births per woman. And that is exactly where their fertility rate is headed. But like other places you wont see that for another 30 to 40 years. But when that decline starts it will happen fast.

If you never been there I can understand why you think your comment makes sense. The sand there destroys everything. It wears down metal and wood, even stone. It is relentless. It finds its ways into the tiniest cracks. Solar panels would not last very long in the desert. If the sands did not destroy them outright, they would very well be buried after one or two storms.
