@JayElJay nah its not a strawman. Remember the outrage when the woman was getting raped on the train in Phili and men just stood by and did nothing. This is why. If you are a man and you have a family, why would you risk this. If you cant see or understand that, you are part of the issue.

@vvvvvv66666 people who threaten others lives sometimes come up against individuals who not only take their threat seriously but also wont give them a chance to act on it. This man who died, met such an individual. I would say he got what he deserved, but its not as simple as that. He had mental health issues. But seeing as we dont take care of our mentally ill anymore, well, I cant blame the Marine for defending himself. Having worked with mentally ill in a clinical setting I can tell you, you can never know what they will do because they are not rational. Its why its hard for people to take individuals such as yourself seriously.

@enjoyslearningandtravel7957 and that's probably how this young marine felt too. Look what he got for his trouble. I'm not saying those individuals not doing are paragons of virtue, but it certainly a cause and effect issue at play. If people chose to ignore that or down play it then they will never understand how these things happen. More importantly it was a response to the claim that the OPs comment was a strawman. It was not.

New York city is a no go zone now. I mean if people watch the whole video they can see after the man passes out, the Marine lets off the hold puts him in the recovery position and renders aid. At which time the man is still breathing. Along with a black and hispanic man who assisted the Marine in subduing him. This is insane.

Hes not being gone after in criminal court, because there is zero proof. This is a civil case. In civil cases there is a much lower standard for evidence, but still evidence is needed. She has exactly zero.

@DesertStateInEU The Geneva Convention disagrees with you. All combatants must be uniformed and under banner. Civilians, by their definition do not have the right to defend their nation. Civilians are non combatants.

@TheCykodude They would have said women in children, if it was women and children. These were more than likely ununiformed Ukrainians who were forced or even volunteered to fight when Russia invaded. This is a violation of the Geneva Convention. All combatant forces must be uniformed. Otherwise they put the general non combatant population at risk. I do understand why Ukraine is making its men fight, but when you militarize your whole male population, anywhere that a man that age puts his head is now a military target, doesnt matter where he is. But the fact is, males who are 18 to 60 are being forced to fight. They dont get a choice. Which is what the OP was talking about.
