As someone else said, Peter struggles, as most people do, with their personal feelings in domestic politics influencing their reason. We are all only human after all.

@jaredyoung5353 Unions work for employees when you are able to limit labor. For the Chamber of Commerce it would if you limited capital. That limits your competition. But that would strangle them too, so typically they just lobby for more regulation to make it almost impossible for new businesses to start. The exact opposite of the thing the Chamber of Commerce should do. Same how when unions sell out their workers for political alliances.

Based on the SCOTUS ruling he cant. So even if he did want to, which is subject to debate. Not mentioning something isnt being for it, he just cant do it even if he would want to.

@beckriv9854 Peter was allegedly a Republican. But he was a globalist Republican, ala George Bush. Globalism in the Republican ranks has been in decline since 2004. But now its on life support. The last gasp of it is its pro Israel policy. But even that will die here in the next decade or so. But this isnt so much a massive change, but a return to what the Republican party was pre Nixon. One might argue that it is an end to the Boomer influence in the Republican party. Republicans are going to be the party of domestic policy and foreign isolation. If one views that as good or bad, well thats just like their opinion man.

@brokenrecord3095 DEI is just social policy rammed into corporations and the government. It is the implementation of modern political leftist theory. And it is an utter failure everywhere it has been tried, from the Secret Service to Microsoft. And then there is the dumpster fire at Disney. Thankfully its eating itself its so incompetent.

The Republican party has never been a monolith. It was created with one main tent pole, anti slavery. If you agreed with that, everyone was welcome.

Republicans have backed labor when it was in accordance to their political goals. Same as how Democrats would throw labor under the bus when it was convenient for theirs.
