People are worried about fighting but lets be honest, sanctions wont work. Russia and the Ukraine export almost 30% of world wheat exports. Most of Europe needs Russia nat gas. Japan and South Korea use Russian LNG. The Ukraine is the leading exporter of potash for fertilizer. We already have shortages in phosphate based fertilizers and petroleum ones. World is going to go on a diet.

@Islamisthecultofsin really? So you dont see the eastward creep of NATO as having anything to do with this? Yea I know looking at both sides these days gets you called names. But if I were a Russian, and considering their history, a little paranoia about an encroaching adversary might be a healthy thing. Either way, we are all going to suffer now.

@raisaburdak Its like saying the US. calm yourself. I get it you are worried about your nation. But I wont change my speech to make you more happy.

@ryanodonnell455 I wasnt aware NATO had nukes. I know the US and Britain do. Pretty sure those are the only two NATO members that do. Or am I incorrect?

@raisaburdak no. Again, with all respect, I am an American. You dont get to police my speech. The Ukraine is ok to say, just like saying the United States and the Russian Federation. I was talking about the country, not the region. But considering what is going on your homeland, Ill be nice. But dont presume to control my speech.

@sadhu7191 industrial potash for barely arable land is a huge industry. No one is talking about a family plot here. There are whole nations who depend on it to keep their people from starving. Ukraine makes 18 percent of the total global potash and 12 metric tons worth. I am going to assume their production will be offline for a while. If it matters number two is Belarus, who will probably get hit with sanctions for allowing Russia to use bases there. They make another 10 million metric tons. If you are bad at math thats north of 30% of the worlds total.

@raisaburdak I am always nice. I have actually fought, I know the price of uncivil actions.

@jamesricker3997 I am not disagreeing with you. But again, I am an American. I am going to assume you arent Russian. But imagine if you were. And you and your family lived Russian history. How might your view, of NATO expansion eastward, change? I am not saying that Russia is correct in its current actions, but that, given their history it may seem logical and needed. And even UKRAINE'S, to make a certain person happy because I am nice, fear of Russia given historical happenings makes their insane choice to court NATO membership seem rational. Again people can point fingers every way they want. But combat is active so it matters little who was right and who is wrong.

@debbiefox6846 Oh yea I forgot and the French. Its hard to keep track of France since they dip out when they want and jump back in when its convenient for them. They came back to NATO in what 2008 or something?
