@CapitanDePlai Per China's adjusted numbers they reached their mx population in 2005. Its one of the reasons their workers rate of pay has gone up 14 times. There are far far less of them to work.

@TheNerdForAllSeasons His book he put out in 2010, talked about "conflict zones", one of which Ukraine is in. He said Russia would invade it. People laughed at him. Then Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. He was one of the few who called it.

We havent always used the word recession. We actually use to call them what they are, depressions. But after the 1929 depression the word was retired, like a sports jersey. Recession then became the used word. The only difference is that the definition did not change.

This is what the Roman mining system had to be like. Thousands and thousands of humans toiling away, chipping down whole mountains in Spain for gold and silver. And then there were the salt mines and the endless amounts of quarried stone. Cobalt mining in Australia is done with only machinery. I think this man is just hyper focused on the Congo. Because in Australia, Canada, and Russia they only use machines.

@Val_Smith No, that isnt what President Bush said at all. He said he would support Ukraine's and Georgi's bid to join Nato. Those are not the same things. But perhaps that is what you meant. That said, analysts take years to come up with strategic plans and views. Heck Bush probably thought it would make his buddies in defense more money. Weird how no one did a thing when the Russians just rolled into Georgia and Crimea.
