Wrong newspaper. That's Washington Post. This youtube channel is Wall Street Journal.

In the US, rich people go to jail too. Martha Stewart was in jail for insider trading. Sometimes hiring good lawyers, will keep a celebrity out of jail. OJ Simpson murdered his wife, and avoided jail through an extremely strong lawyer team. Later OJ Simpson robbed a sports collector, and did wind up in jail, but that was 15 years later.

Well, there was the Yom Kippur War when the Arabs caught the Israelis off guard. Israeli Intelligence is good, but never perfect.
87
But you have to admit it's better than those blank white canvases that pass for art in Modern Art Museums.

@Rosskles You don't need an expert writing in a newspaper to understand proper gun use. You stop firing when the threat is no longer there. But then the question is what is the threat. In that split second, you can't tell who is surrendering and who is fake surrendering. If you assume the worst, that the thing is a trap and the guys on the ground have hidden grenades/pistols, then everyone gets sprayed. Once a few seconds elapse, and it becomes clear if anyone is fighting back, then you stop firing and collect your senses.
25
Unfortunately, if you assume the worst, that the thing was a trap, and everyone lying on the ground will spring forth with pistols and grenades, then everyone becomes a threat and you spray your gun wildly.

What frightens the world is China might be taking on too much debt. If China's economy takes a downturn, the entire world economy will take a downturn. The financial stability of the world is dependent on each major power managing their economy correctly. The failure of any major power to do so will cause the entire world to suffer.
11
Spermwhale1000 Sorry, but North Koreans don't shout Allah Akbar. North Korea is not Islamic.
10
No, this is definitely something of concern. Excessive debt can lead to the downfall of a nation. If China's economy collapses, then the world will suffer.

All the better. We love watching an exciting Olympics.
9
He could have been a rocket scientist or brain surgeon. Now he will spend his days swinging a pick, turning big rocks into little rocks.
9
We should get this guy's papers in order, so he is a legal med student. We should give him a student visa. Then when he graduates, an H-1B visa so he can work legally. He will be treated as a foreigner legally allowed to work. We can deport the riff raffs, but keep the elites.
8
We can deport the riff raffs, but this guy might qualify for a H-1B visa. The skill level is extremely high. After getting an H-1B, then green card, then citizenship. We don't want the riff raffs, but this guy is different.
8
***** Oh I definitely agree. Obama's infrastructure spending was a disaster. As an example, the California high speed rail spent money to spend money, building a rail line that goes nowhere. They are hoping that the stars align and magically the rest of the rail line appears that will connect San Francisco to Los Angeles.
8
You forget that China is the safety that North Korea should depend on. North Korea doesn't need nuclear weapons, when China has nuclear weapons.
7
darkshadow955 We stop issuing the H-1Bs when the doctor shortage is fixed.
7
The Wall Street Journal is very much business oriented. Unlike other types of news, numbers don't lie. Either there is a profit or a loss. Either debt payments can be made or not. There is some guess work with future numbers, but forecasting has never been exact.
7
刘培旭 You are quite right about that. Obama's excessive debt lost America's AAA debt rating. That is a major embarrassment, and so is Obama. China's situation is different. What the world fears is the bursting of China's economic bubble, much like what happened 8 years ago in the US housing bubble.
6
Baltimore and Detroit are some of the worst cities in the US. New York was a stinker of a city, but Giuliani turned around Times Square.
6
@KoralGoksen No, it's more like Hamas is regarded as a rag tag group of terrorists, who are continuously starved for weapons because their borders are closed and the sea lanes are constrained. That creates a complacency where any word of warning would not be taken seriously. Unfortunately, Iran has taken advantage of that complacency and has beefed up Hamas, and even provided operational planning.
5
Sun S I did not say America is the best of the best. I said America wants the best of the best. If a foreigner is willing, we can give him a H-1B and a job.
5
Not everyone in Asia can afford a car. Some Asian cities will penalize car ownership. Public transit (including rail) becomes a reasonable solution if you don't own a car.
4
Most of the illegal immigrants are not like this guy. Some can't even finish high school. If someone can finish med school, I say get him an H-1B visa. He will be treated as a foreigner legally working in the US. We don't want the riff raffs, but we do want doctors and engineers.
4
@kwaru1 Detect communication? That might not be that easy if Iranian officers are making visits through the Egypt-Gaza border.
4
America is interested in acquiring the best of the best. Someone should sponsor this person for a H-1B visa. Later he can pick up a green card, and then work his way to citizienship. Indeed, we should keep this guy. As for the riff raff who can't measure up to his level, we should deport them. We want elites. We don't want riff raffs.
4
It's a mixed picture. US is not known for producing telecom switches, but instead leads in mobile phones. Apple makes iPhone. Google makes the Android OS.
4
I think the issue is the lack of due process and the forced confessions.
4
@arshaq4200 Well, you explain it to me. Why is it that the Middle East is continuously fighting wars? Ever since the the colonial powers gave independence to the Middle East nations, it has been war upon war. I don't think you can find a single decade where the Middle East is completely at peace.
3
@jaypolas4136 Pistol gunshot to the head? No, the very last guy came out and started firing, thereby invalidating the entire surrender, and getting his buddies sprayed by counter fire. Stop making up stuff.
3
Sun S Let's be clear. I am pro-immigrant, but of the right type of immigrant. Historically the immigrants from East Asia / South Asia are fantastic students, becoming exceptional engineers and doctors. Oh yes, let's bring in more of these guys. What we don't want is those underperformers from Mexico who shun education, exception noted for those smart Mexican guys. I met some of those Mexican programmers from Monterey. Oh yes, let's bring them in. But please, not the other guys. In short we want the A grade people. The F grade people can stay home. We don't want them.
3
You should rather embrace China's solution. Don't hide behind a solution that works. If China can squash terrorism by demolishing muslim culture, then that should be acknowledged as a working solution.
3
But if they go on strike, then it further hobbles an already weak economy, which will lead to job loss.
3
likely technology jobs. I hope everybody studied engineering, and not art history.
3
John C G Elicit? Middle East? Trafficking? What are you saying? The guy is from Thailand. I would suggest a H-1B as a legal and valid work visa.
3
Sun S How about this, I will use the word hoi polloi. We don't want the hoi polloi, but we do want people who qualify for a H-1B visa. No, we don't want everyday people. We want the best people to join America. If they got skills, we want them. If they got money, we want them. If they have neither, why should we even answer the door?
3
What does this have to do with Biden? Baltimore freeway should be paid with Baltimore money. Any benefits would accrue to Baltimore, so it makes sense that the one who benefits is the one who pays. Let Baltimore raise its own funds.
2
North Korea is quantity over quality. US is quality over quantity. Which army would win? For comparison, think US vs Iraq.
2
@shawne02 Shot in the back of the head? No, the last Russian to emerge fired first, and then all the other Russians died under the return fire. Do I need to dig up a link to the video footage for you to see?
2
@realnapster1522 Is it a war crime? The last Russian fired first. And then all the Russians got sprayed.
2
Your testimony is believable. However, we in the West remember the Asian crisis of the 90s, so please understand we are concerned that China may likewise go bust. When a country goes through a boom cycle, what follows is a bust cycle. It is remarkable that China has been able to stave off a bust for such an extended period of time. However, there is concern with China's transition to domestic consumption. The transition is still progressing, but it is not the smoothest transition. I myself have held off buying HSBC stock for the uncertainty inherent in the China market. We know you are a patriot and we will not contest that, but when it comes to money, even you would understand why some of us in the West are concerned.
2
Sun S America is the land of free, as in freedom, not as in free to come. If they add something to nation, then we should invite them. If they add nothing, then you should sponsor them. How about you sponsor them by letting them stay at your house?
2
@thebiggamers999 It's a war zone. Everybody is armed. If you are ambushed by someone who pretends to surrender, can you actually keep your calm, or would you treat every Russian as a threat? Making the wrong decision will end your life. Making the wrong decision can also end someone else's life. Do you understand how difficult these situations are?
2
Haggling over price? This guy spent one too many days shopping at the Arab Bazaar.
2
Blow up their own bridge? Like punch themselves in the face? That bridge is a key supply route for the Russians fighting in Kherson. Logisitics is already having enough trouble with supply the Kherson front. You think Russia wants to miss more shipments to Kherson? You might as well claim that Russia wants to intentionally lose the war to Ukraine.
2
Apple designs the phone. Foxconn makes the phone. Softbank owns Sprint, which is a telecom service provider. That journalist is an embarrassment.
2
@BlackSunHexagram American army has HIMARS. 16 of them are effectively suppressing the whole Russian army's ammo supply. On that basis alone, US army is stronger than Russia's
2
@niravapurv4578 No one is claiming the railway was destroyed, but the intense fuel fire is very serious. The steel rods in the concrete may have expanded under the intense heat and caused hairline cracks in the concrete. Hairline cracks if placed under additional stress like heavy loads and vibrations from trains could over time become bigger cracks, and eventually sudden failure of the concrete. As for who did it, If you want to go Russian, I would suggest a secret faction with their own agenda, working against Putin. There was that car bomb that blew up Putin's ally's daughter. But this is total conjecture, and not worthy of belief, without further evidence.
2
I studied at UCLA for my undergrad, quite some years ago, and I remember watching wildfire descend a bush-laden hill. Wild fires are not a new thing for Los Angeles. That they would be so badly unprepared is shocking.
2
Softbank already paid $32 billion for ARM. They also own Sprint, but the CEO didn't mention the exact number paid. Softbank is not to be taken lightly. They are serious business people. If they want to plunk down another $50 billion, they are making serious moves. They also don't need government money to make their investment.
2
Sun S I am an engineer, and I make lots of money for the economy. I work with lots of immigrants, but they are no riff raffs. They are quite skilled. No my ancestors did not sail here from Europe. I am the son of immigrants, of Chinese descent. I care little for the plight of Native Americans. They ought to go to college and become engineers if they want to prosper. Oh I understand how valuable US citizenship is. Many people desire, but cannot have it. Too bad. We can't accept everyone who applies.
