Couldnt care less. I have a genorator, enough solar panels to run my entire home. Hundreds of pounds of propane. Hundreds of gallons of gas. And even a wood burner. Anyone who isnt at MINIMUM as ready as me? You deserve whats coming. And before ya say "but muh cant affords", it took me YEARS to build what I have. Those without forsight wont survive.

@1MarkMoss Very true indeed. But thats where my years of survival bushcraft skills, and firearms training come into play. Brutal sure, but we are talking about survival extremes here. This isnt an ABC drama, everyone elses survival is everyone elses problem, and my survival is mine. Put simply, any means nessicary.

@roberteggart7304 i cycle it once every 2 years or so and pushing it a little more each time to see what the limits ACTUALLY are. First, start with high octane gas, then put stabilizer in it. People on the internet will say gas lasts 12 months max, this is bullshit. Ive personally tested it in large quantities. Right now my stock is about 18 mos old and I just ran my generator last weekend just fine. I cant say what would happen if you used 86 garbage gas. I only store 93, 96 if i can get my hands on it. I activelly use my stocks non stop, so i think mixing in new fuel with the old on a monthly basis definitelly helps too. If your thinking of just filling a tank and not touching it for 10 years that wont work, even with all the stabilizer in the world.

@GoCruit i wouldmt bother with a solar generator, all that is, is a solar system built into 1 device. So with solar you have your panels, then a charge controller, an inverter to convert dc to ac, and your battery bank. A solar generator combines all these. And it is STILL cheaper to get all that stuff separate than it is to buy a gimmick solar generator. Even if you wanted to make it portable, the only big part is the pannels, the rest are the size of a 4 inch thick dinner tray and thats if you get a giant MPPT type charge controller. Just get a 600 to 1000 watt system and hook it into your main. Solar gens are a huge ripoff right now, 3.5x more expensive than just buying the componants and making a little box or mounting them.

@GoCruit yes when you have a system subsidised by the power company they take every sip of extra power that isnt immediatly used. Careful with those, many promise the sky and say its free but you end up paying foe it one way or another even after tax writeoffs. Its best to get a SMALL SUPLIMENTAL system. 600 to 1200 watts, with a gas generator both wired into a 3 way switchover panel so you can manually switch between the 3 sources at will. My solar system will NOT run my whole house but more than a few hours on the 200am batteries, the charge isnt enough to keep up, I use it at emergency lighting and to keep the refrigerators on. The generator takes the brunt of the house when main power is off. Whole house solar systems are a whole different monster and not financially viable quite yet unless your midwest.
