  1. I have both a glock 19 and a Springfield TRP and I can tell you from experience the 1911 is a FAR superior gun. In a prolonged no maintenance situation I would rely on the 1911 9 out of 10 times before I grabbed the glock. That said, as far as the "best" service pistol I would go for my 509 tac. Only reason that gun doesnt dominate the military contract market is because its twice as expensive as all its competitors that are of lesser quality.
