  1. In this scenario, I tend to look at the past credits of the editor... and WHOA, this guy both edited and SCORED all of Singer's films, except X-Men? This guy is CRAZY talented. So I'm betting a millionty bucks these edits weren't his idea. But being a good editor, he's taking the bullets, instead of saying "The new director was nuts, chain smoking in the edit bay and yelling at me to add more cuts." Instead, he just says "Oops, my bad." And for that, he DOES deserve an Oscar... but maybe for Best Actor.
