  1. I've seen a few posts from independent news/political sites based in India. It might be paranoia, but there seems to be a fear of some sort of false flag or similar event with China that they can blame on the Indians. This would give Chinese leaders a chance to rally the people and divert their attention away from a collapsing economy.

  2. Paying their creditors is going to be a problem if they go under. The Chinese government will want Chinese citizens paid first, and the most. Foreign investors can fight over the scraps. Along with being illegal in most cases, it will cut deeply into future investments. There are still some who see China as untapped potential. So they'll throw cash at them. But far fewer than a few years ago.
