  5. She hadn't been given the script by her handlers. You can almost see her brain in a loop. No connection to server. File not found. I refuse to believe she wasn't briefed during the flight back. If nothing else, if just for the optics. Get off the flight in and give a quick 30-45 second statement about how you are being updated and that you need to get back to city hall or some headquarters before saying anything more, then jump in a car with a police escort and haul ass out of there. Standing around the airport and not saying anything was about the dumbest thing she could have done.

  8. Rogan has stated that he'd travel to meet with her at the time and place convenient for the campaign. They still said no. I think the big problem from the Harris campaign, aside from her staff being afraid of Rogan, was the insistence that it be live. No one on the Harris team could edit anything she said. They knew that over an hour of her ramblings would be career suicide.

  12. In college I had a professor who would play clips from the Sunday news shows. He would only play the answer. For extra credit on a test, we had to guess the answer. Ted Kennedy was the hardest. He would give answers like he was reading from a prepared speech and the interviewer was interrupted him. The question could be whether he preferred hamburgers or cheeseburgers. His answer would be a two minute rant about tax cuts effecting Medicare. Harris would be the all time champion. Not only doesn't she answer the question presented, she doesn't coherently answer anything.

  13. Someone on Zelensky's staff should have shown him a quote from former President Obama, "Elections have consequences." Perhaps explained that there's a new boss. He, and his staff have American flags in their online bios. Not Ukrainian or rainbow ones. The new guy can actually remember what he said yesterday. He's made his fortune and power by winning negotiations, not just giving stuff away.

  18. ​ @robertschmidli2195  In Florida and Georgia they did a test run. Cameras with speed monitors were installed to "study traffic flow". Honest, they wouldn't later be used to issue tickets, we promise. They learned that ones in rural stretches of road tended to suffer kinetic damage or inexplicably fall down at a much higher rate. I'm sure the lack of people (witnesses) in the area had nothing to do with it.

  19. The loophole they use. The ticket is issued to the car, not the driver. There are no points against your license, or whatever system California uses. This was the BS excuse Volusia County (Daytona) in Florida used to abuse the asset forfeiture laws. They weren't detaining you (a person), they were detaining cash (a thing). You were free to go, but the money stays until you get a judge to order them to give it back.

  23. Nothing new. I remember in the early 90's when ATF (BATF/BATFE) had went through an inventory audit and discovered that they had "misplaced" a huge number of guns. The sheer number and type would have had any private company shut down, bankrupted with fines, and many of the employees heading to prison. Of course there were no ramifications, just told to do better in the future.

  24. I've tried to explain to so many people that Ukraine isn't in NATO. Yes they made inquiries, but even if they were approved for future admission, it would have taken almost a decade before they could have been ready. Some people think that because they are NATO adjacent, or something like that, we are still responsible for their protection.

  27. When he was first running I made jokes about him loosing his mind and general potato brain status. After a while I stopped because it wasn't funny, it was cruel. Not just the comments about him, but the way his support staff especially Jill, kept propping him up. I must be way more naive than I thought because I believed enough other people see it and step in.

  29. You may not have agreed with or liked Rush Limbaugh, but he had a great way of dealing with requests for appearances on Sixty Minutes (They asked a few times.) or similar shows. His only demand was to have his own camera running the entire time. They could show whatever they wanted first. But he would show the full response, in context and without editing, later. They turned him down every time.
