Nothing new. I remember in the early 90's when ATF (BATF/BATFE) had went through an inventory audit and discovered that they had "misplaced" a huge number of guns. The sheer number and type would have had any private company shut down, bankrupted with fines, and many of the employees heading to prison. Of course there were no ramifications, just told to do better in the future.
