  1. A possible idea on paper, but likely wouldn't be that effective in practice. As some have pointed out, effective range is limited. There's also aiming speed. Raising the barrel and moving it to get a proper lead would prove much harder then using canister shot against ground troops.

  2. I remember seeing a pair of similar looking shelters near a farm in Sicily. They were referred to as the "mushrooms". One was being used to store tools, the other seemed to be the property of the goats.
