  1. My first look at the reality of "Teacher knows best" was in the 5th grade. I was suggested for promotion to the 7th grade, skipping grade 6. I was also tested for Title III, remedial schooling. At the time it didn't occur to anyone that I am mildly dyslexic and half blind. Because I was always the largest person in class (sometimes including the teacher) I always sat in the back and never saw the chalkboard where stuff was written. Almost everything I learned was from my parents or what I read myself.

  2. Arguing with a teacher/professor is as effective as arguing with a referee. Whatever they say is reality. Even if they admit they were wrong later, you still lose the game.
