  1. I have a short, Germanic name. But people seem to be unable to say it. Between kindergarten and the time I graduated only one teacher got it right. She had a long Polish name, so I figure she'd spent most of her life correcting other people and was more aware of checking before saying it. When my father retired from the Navy they misspelled his name. Neither he nor I have been offended by this, it had become something of a joke within our family.

  2. Be careful. It was suburban white women who donated buckets of cash to BLM and pushed through the idiotic legislation they demanded. They are progressives greatest allies. You lose them and you are back relying on a tiny core of supporters.
