  1. Part of his plea agreement. If he testified against Rittenhouse, they'd drop the charges. Odd way of getting a witness/victim to testify. Maybe a coconspirator, but he wasn't that. My guess is that the prosecutor basically gave him a script to read in court in exchange for not charging him.
