  1. This is why they have to stick to the narrative, and can't allow dissenting opinions on anything. When people actually do their own research, when they begin to question the "facts" they've been spoon fed, they discover a lot of what they "know" is either not quite right or even outright bullshit. This can cause them to question more and can lead to them completely walking away from the cult.
