  2. Check your local laws. The laws for squatters vary from state to state. In some places you are a legal resident of an address when you receive mail there. Drop by the post office and mail yourself a letter, and two days later it can take months to get someone out.

  3. These are the same police that raided churches and synagogues during the Great Coof Panic because people wanted to pray as a group and other "radical" religious activities. Most cops, especially in bigger cities, just follow orders. Usually orders from a politically appointed bosses.
