The government comes in, imposes by force an "ideal" personal philosophy and now people are killing themselves and drinking like fish.   All in the face of a "ban".   Force isn't working.  Liberty does.   Why not try simply leaving people alone?  Black markets and the associated crime are the sole cause of government.  Government is the cause of the violence.  Government is the cause of the high value, the high reward for producing or importing alcohol.  Government creates the conditions for violence and of course, people bleat out for (you guessed it) more government!   Yea!!!!!
