  1. Technically russians are not just sending human waves. They send well equipped mechanized infantry and tanks with support of aircrafts and helicopters(not anymore, their airforce is half-dead now). That's why losses are only 26 thousand people, which is much less than back in a Winter War. If it were infantry losses would be more than ten times higher.
