He just turned 60 a couple months ago, but looks a decade older than that to me. No charisma, he's the Dems' Pillsbury dough boy

@thefunnyman713 Brits call the United States "America" - that's just the way it is.
8
@gumbyElvis yes, the Guard/Reserves tally up one's credible years using a different matrix; not like those in the "regular Army (AF, Navy, etc)"
3
@Sm1ret It's not coincidental the Dems prefer the Manchurian candidate types.
3
@nadmorph he's stomach-turning ooogleee.... prematurely aged.
3
@corvetteb3075 Trump's years at military high school speaks volumes! Plus, what/when did he draft dodge? I've cousins the same age to Trump who got 'education exemptions' during VietNam era, are they draft dodgers, too? because the government allowed them to go to college vice do military service in the late 60s and early 70s? huh?
3
Perhaps because he'd been going to China "to teach" since his college days and never stopped. Even if he didn't get credit for that particular year, he still could have enough points or he could make up through other approved means the points and be able to get a reserve retirement. He just turned 60 in April and so this is his first year he can draw a mil retirement 'check'.
2
@gumbyElvis you don't understand how calculating reserve time works obviously. If you think it's a straight calculation of yrs., then you're wrong. As a former reservist, a variety of factors beyond "time" make up what's called "credible service years"
2
@stevenruark2930 No, you don't need an exemption, technically. Either he doubled up on his acdutra/drill hrs. at some point later, or he had some kind of arrangement where he did what was once called correspondence coursework to 'gain' points to substitute in for the hrs. I'm def not a fan of T-Tim, but people are assuming he did something shady since they don't understand the mil. Reserves/Guard of the '80s, '90s, 2000s. Things may be calculated differently now, but that's how it was back then.
2
Democatt's Walz (MN's best) should not be confused with a real patriot & veteran, FL's congressman Mike Waltz. Walz is not Waltz
2
Chang is consistently the most anti-Asian Asian out there.
2
the reality is he's temporarily on hiatus from his trips to China & he's finished with his Guard time, so nobody's going to put in the effort to "investigate" any of this further.
2
@edgargad2941 after all, his wife loved the smell of the burn up or so she said. That's beyond the pale. Sick sick
2
Honestly I don't think the US govt ever considered "educational visits to China" a problem. Students have been regularly going to China for many decades now. Walz apparently ran some kind of education travel program taking US kids to China, so 30 trips seems likely. I'm not defending that, just saying this isn't actually some kind of unique or illegal thing (on the surface).
2
@corvetteb3075 As a veteran & recruitment expert of 30+ yrs, bone spurs can certainly medically disqualify and do understand that medically disqualified does not equate with draft dodging. Apparently your father didn't have any or maybe there wasn't enough documentation about his bad feet prior to going into the service or else he would've been DQ'ed like other draftees.
2
@MM-yy9ib apparently he was leading, managing groups of students on regular trips to Chi-na. What else he was doing in China besides that, who knows?
2
@SenorJuan2023 I'm absolutely not voting for a Dem (never have!) but I'll say in the goofballs defense that taking students to China has been in place and often at subsidized rates since Nixon warmed up U.S. relations with Beijing back in the 1970s.
2
@SenorJuan2023 why would anyone call the Minneapolis antifa riots "freedom fires" when it rained hell upon the city - I just can't get past that for one thing.
2
@SenorJuan2023 mentally sharp for 78 years of age & he's got unbelievable energy, your eyes and ears can't lie to you about that.
2
@franniebanani6532 the military works for the deep state who owns their highest levels of leadership, it's that simple
1
@stevenruark2930 Here's the thing... "time" in the Reserves based on my experience serving in the same time frame as Timmy is/was not simply calculated in a straight day-for-day basis (unlike persons serving in the 'regular' Navy, Army, A/F active duty, etc). It [drill time] is certainly a key element in calculating what's known as "credible service [points]", but it's not the only factor considered in the matrix for advancement / pay / retirement.
1
@ThatBerkleySingerPoet He's already drawing his monthly retirement check. Nothing is going to change that, so it's futile to keep knocking head against wall.
1
@pascalpascalino8745 with the Demonvrats everything is illusion and deception.
1
@dennisdragomir7572 indeed, the Dem Farmer Labor Party subs in for the Dem party candidate(s). People are waking up to this finally.
1
@MrJeffcoley1 The state he got his DUI has it in the system & it seems illogical that he'd not bring it up to his chain of command. Nevertheless, DUI's are serious, yes, but quite commonplace, too.
1
@MrJeffcoley1 were the SNCO's in the active drilling Reserves or in the Regular Army or Marines?
1
the other Dem top choice was this guy Shapiro who had major skeletons in his closet involving a cover up, so there's no good choices that the Dems ever consider. They truly want someone marginal, compromised, so that the real powerful can use them to their advantage.
1
Regarding China, Peter Schweitzer's books are the best.
1
@HLStrickland As an "American" I'd like to remind you (since you probably already know this, right?), but the fledgling colonies (t/b/k/a the United States) only won independence because the FRENCH became staunch allies with us against their archrival. Without the French, we'd still be speaking the queen's english without all the 'uhm's' and 'ya knows' that make our speech sound pretty dang illiterate.
1
@HLStrickland you've lost the plot, strickland. The original comment if you can trace back to that was about the terms "America" vs. "United States", however, you decided to lay out a rant in CAPS just for the hell of it I guess. Go back to bed.
1
@ReysRants He probably got medals/ribbons for various military campaigns regardless of whether he personally deployed or not - that's how it works. If you're "in" during the time of an operation or mil campaign, you receive a commendation for it - period.
1
@HappyDinosaurFossils-xf4zw wow smh!
1
The Dems seek out the compromised, morally bankrupt, easily manipulated types who have secrets which must stay hidden. That's their modus operandi.
1
@JonL-bb3ol I'm not sure you're aware that the US has been sponsoring or sending US students on trips to China consistently over the last 45 years. Point the finger at the DoE & US govt for encouraging & supporting this.
1
@ShaggyRogers1 I’m anti Walz, can’t stand dem party. But here’s the deal: Walz was leading groups of students to China for many yrs. That was his job. That’s why he went there so many times. What else he was doing besides leading student trips there, I don’t know. I say this because I’ve lead groups of students on trips too. It was my job as an American.
1
@ShaggyRogers1 not unheard of. Universities have had student groups to China and elsewhere abroad for decades. Don’t act like this is unique role for Walz or it’s not been happening by many other educ institutions for yrs, because it has. I’m not defending this dude & never vote dem anyway.
