For anyone who wants to counter the assertion that the loyalists to RFK Jr. should still vote for him if he remains on their state's ballot, it’s good to reflect that our last INDEPENDENT-affiliated presidential candidate was on the ballot in 50 states, and had participated in three national debates. Results: the candidate received almost 20 Million votes, or 19% of the popular vote, and met the 5% threshold; however, he carried no states and thus received zero electoral college votes. The independent party candidate was ROSS PEROT losing the election to Democrat Bill Clinton.
