@billy-black-socks It was NEVER a joke, it was never a term used lightly. In an interview last summer, Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk talked about it - maybe not putting those exact four words together into a title - but they talked about the problems of corruption and waste and Musk basically volunteered to consider getting personally involved in those efforts. Then you're right, Musk brought the idea forward to Trump who naturally was excited/intrigued by the prospect. And the rest is history (the history that's now unfolding daily...)

As usual, the Dems go after the esoteric, quirky 'concerns' that the majority of American people aren't particularly worried about at this point in time.

Don't presume the "old people' in government were happy about the fraud, waste, and corruption during the previous decades. If you mentioned it, you were ignored, threatened, blackballed, confronted, etc., and there was no political figure in America who was in charge and actually okay with thinking outside the box, outside the status quo, and outside the "it's always been done this way" ethos which existed for decades in fed bureaucracy - until a man called TRUMP.
