  3. that's why you have homeowners insurance. What you have to do is get and keep homeowners insurance and if it's dropped, you have to move into an apartment or move elsewhere. You don't remain living in your 3.2 million dollar cracker box in Fire, Landslide, and Earthquake Country without it. The state of California has a baseline govt supplemented property insurance option if there's no other way.

  4.  @Elena-rt9yu  people misunderstand FEMA completely. FEMA is ONLY an ADMINISTRATIVE piece of the government. It is there to assess situations and make decisions whether people/homeowners receive govt aid or not. It's not there for rescue, relief, first responder efforts, etc. It's not 9-1-1.... when will people wake up and see this? the little that FEMA does in direct response to those involved in a catastrophe/natural disaster is hardly worth mentioning.

Halt all investigation until after this hearing. One of those agents was at fault, maybe fully at fault, we don't know.

  13.  @DrewHall-un8sn  virtually all countries (nations) had a state religion with the leader of the church and the leader of the state (nation) who were one and the same. The U.S. did not agree to that. The founders did not want a monarchy or a religious figure to sit at the head of the American government. They wanted a separation of church leadership (and the opportunity for people to follow any faith they chose or no faith at all) alongside a separate and different state (national) head of the govt. You're right, Drew. Many people grossly misunderstand what the intention of Washington and the founding fathers were, and also denounce that there were professed Christians who wrote the original documents.

  30. I've been flying for over 45 years now. When I'm seated, I'm belted in. This is ridiculous scenario. Nobody should be unbelted except on the walk up to the potty. Even the potty should have a seat belt :)

I finally see the light - the fire actually illuminated something very clearly for me - this is the start of UBI (universal basic income) or IBI for everyone in America - this is what some have wanted for years. The government issues a permanent payment to everyone. In the meantime, housing is provided and food will come from the UBI checks. These destroyed areas of Los Angeles will be the first recipients.

  38.  @white_isnt_a_race2338  yes, I'm very much aware that there's been a mass exodus of insurance co. leaving the state for variety of reasons and that the heat has been on for many months now to strip Calif homeowners of their insurance leaving them in dire straits. It's god-awful situation, but it's forcing people to make tough decisions about what they're gonna have to do next.

Regardless of what insurance providers are still in Ca., homes need insurance. Things you own need protection. I'm not saying it's not a racket and riddled with problems, etc., but what's the alternative?

The seatbelt off sign should be permanently eliminated. If you have to go to the bathroom, get up and go, then return back and put belt on. Geez, this isn't complicated!
