  1.  @marceloheyde agree. ATC should err on the side of extra caution. That’s their primary job. Safe, steady, slow & controlled management of airspace & aircraft.

  4. Buckley should’ve said something worthwhile. Head on a swivel etc Both of these guys aren’t really giving meaningful new insight. Perhaps too many aircraft of all kinds with all kinds of reasons but too many and too tight time of take offs/landings.

  7.  @mobetta3456 two of the four pilots in the helicopter were in a training flight meaning one was under instruction during last evening’s flight. We don’t know who was on the controls at the moment of impact or in the seconds prior to.

  8. @ Miramar should be San Diego’s second airport. Not disputing that fact! It should’ve been established in 2000. By the way other cities have nearby former mil facilities/installations in proximity that should also be alleviating the volume. My guess is the city/county wants the full revenue & not split it with another locality.

  12.  @robertdouglas3174 Miramar hasn’t been a Navy base in about 30 years now. It belongs to the USMC.

  13.  @mommao393 visual separation should’ve been a hard no and the ATC surely would’ve been in the right to forbid it. Instead she allowed it. This accident shows the public that policy & procedures need an overhaul with safety at top of mind.
