@justabrokezombie6252 Cameron didn't end up having a lot to do with Dark Fate. The marketing team used his involvement to promote the movie. He was merely a consultant on the movie and pitched some ideas and concepts they could use, but he had almost nothing to do with the production itself. The director himself was already speaking out against Cameron before the production even began.

The Terminator franchise would've been better to just reboot some time down the line with new characters and a new setting and to just leave these characters and this story alone. A stand-alone future war movie with a hard R rating would've been badass.

@JSB-2Z-2K How was it a mistake? Terminator's are infiltrators. It's best chance of finding John at that time was by assuming the role of one of the foster parents. There was a high probability that John would either make contact with them or even go back to the house.

@FreshSmog There was still a chance John would ignore the T800 and try to make contact with the foster parents just like he ended up doing with Sarah at the hospital. When the T-1000 first showed up at the house looking for John, Janelle seemed quite concerned. It was not unreasonable to assume John might try to make contact with them, and may have even wanted to go by the house for some supplies.
