@paulharding1972 If they break a law that is punishable by being sentenced to prison then absolutely, but can you point out one thing this Trooper did wrong?
35
@Jordan-sv3pu That's 27 mph over the limit, This guy was doing 34 mph over the limit. Where does a Trooper draw the line on leniency when the law says 25 mph is excessive? Should you be allowed to go 75 mph over the limit and just let go when the law says 25? Don't forget that the drivers tag had expired and was not visible and his taillights were illegal as well
26
Amy Falcon There is nothing this Trooper did that warranted him being fired. Cases are beat in court everyday that does not result in the firing of a police officer. The driver was clearly speeding, had an expired tag that was not visible and had illegal taillights. The officer was extremely courteous in allowing the driver to call for his mother to pick up his car instead of impounding it. The firing of the police officer has nothing to do with the handling of the situation, any misconduct, or false charges. The only way this police officer was fired was because the driver knew people in high places period. Where is your court document showing all charges were dropped?
25
@famf6234 It does when that speeding is in excess of 25 mph over the limit. The driver was doing 89 in a 55 zone, that's 34 mph over the speed limit and warrants a night in jail.
24
Amy Falcon What proof do you have he wasn’t doing 89!in a 55? Either way it doesn’t matter, the cop arrested him for 89 in a 55 and the driver has every right to dispute and fight that charge in court. But PROTOCOL dictates that the driver spends the night in jail for the charge. You have no argument cupcake, the law is the law, if you break it you pay the consequences. The driver never even disputed the fact he was charged with excessive speed because he knows how fast he was going......YOU DO NOT!
22
8BoyN8 Because the law states that anything more then 25 mph over the limit is considered excessive and warrants a more severe penalty of going to jail until you can go before a judge. You people should really learn the law and understand that the officer is just doing his job. The officer and the driver were very respectful to each other and the officer even extended courtesy of allowing him to call his mother to pick up is car instead of just having it impounded. People like yourself are too quick to assume anything a police officer does is excessive or qualifies as misconduct. If the driver did NOT want to go to jail he should’ve obeyed the law, slowed down, not let his tag expire and have legal taillights.
17
Amy Falcon Why? Because I know and understand how the law works? When you break the law, there are consequences sweetheart. Tell me one thing this Police Officer did wrong, This Trooper was compassionate, respectful and courteous while doing is job professionally and you know it
14
madam jewelz 99.99% of the time the driver is not going 34 mph over the speed limit
12
@famf6234 Once again cupcake, 25 mph over the limit is considered excessive and can be considered reckless driving. He was doing 34 mph over the limit
6
clarice525 Does it bother you Princess?
5
K L You have evidence of that right?? You left-wing nut jobs can not accept reality, you LIE to make false arguments because you can’t accept truth. Cite your source supporting your claim that the officer “Was just making that up on the fly” $1000 says you are the one making it up on the fly
5
@markharris61 Why not? dumb fuc
5
Henry Baker The guy was breaking the law and was doing so willingly. No one made the guy drive in excess of 25 mph over the speed limit sweetheart. When you are being a d!ck and vagrantly ignoring traffic laws and potentially endangering the lives of innocent people you deserve to be harassed, and in fact you are asking to be harassed. Stop making excuses for bad guys and stop defending people’s vagrant disrespect for laws and the safety of others.
4
Henry Baker Every American citizen goes by the same laws and has the same rights. Again, He was the one breaking the law. Are you suggesting that blacks are oppressed because they are NOT allowed to go 34 mph OVER the posted speed limit without getting pulled over?
4
Roderick Barclay 34 mph over the speed isn’t a MINOR issue, it puts lives of innocent people at risk. Ambulances are only allowed to go 15 mph over the speed limit while they’re trying to save the life of someone. What gives this idiot the privilege to go 34 mph over?
4
Roderick Barclay “I’m a balif” LMAO What a moron!
4
Chris Shafi The Officer was fired because Montgomery played High School football in Greenwood SC, and had friends/fans on the department.
4
Excalibur Clan What excuse?? The cop did his job in a very professional and courteous manner. The suspect did his part by obeying orders and complying. The time to discuss the case and defend/present evidence, is in the courtroom, not on the side of the highway. The officer charged the man with going 34 mph over the speed limit which is an arrestable offense and extended the “Brother with a nice car” the courtesy of allowing him to call someone to come pick it up instead of being impounded. If you were old enough to drive and had a car, you would understand how helpful that is. As far as making sure I won’t make it across the road, I’ll be leaving your Mom’s house around midnight
4
Robert Thomas Cite your source supporting your false claim OR publicly admit you are a LIAR!
3
Jey Doza Laws DO NOT cease to exist because no one is in the Highway for that section of road. At that speed he could’ve ran up in a car ahead of him in no time. By your own logic I should be left off with a warning for setting a building on fire when their was no one inside. The law is the law, this guy broke the law, no one made him break the law, got caught breaking the law and has to pay the price. The only a$$hole in the video was the speeder
3
James McLeod Yes, we all speed, I never claimed we didn’t. But when you speed at an excess of 34 mph over the speed limit then yes! You’re an asshole
3
Hash TV NO, the fact he chose to speed at a rate of 34 mph over the speed limit is why he went to jail. Anything over 25 mph over the speed limit is an arrest-able offense.
3
Roderick Barclay Troopers do extensive training on judging speed using only visual clues. So much in fact, that most states will convict on Trooper testimony alone. Why don’t you stop making excuses for criminals and bad guys and start holding them accountable for their actions instead of telling the cops to stop doing their job.
3
Roderick Barclay No Sam was being an A$shole! Anyone going 34 mph over the speed limit is an A$$hole and deserves to go to jail
3
Roderick Barclay Troopers do extensive training to judge speed by visual clues only. Most states will convict on Trooper testimony alone. Who are you to say he wasn’t going 89 mph????? What training have you had and how are you more credible then the officer on the scene when all you’ve seen is a video??
3
Roderick Barclay First, you better check your facts again Princess. Different states have different rules and laws. Most states WILL convict of Trooper testimony alone as Troopers go through extensive training for that exact purpose. Second, You are not a “BAILIFF”! If you were then you would know how to spell it correctly cupcake. Which makes you a LIAR! Which in turn denies you any credibility with any of your statements.
3
Roderick Barclay You misspelled it again even after I corrected you sweetheart. You’re NOT a “Bailiff” if you can’t even spell “BAILIFF” Princess. You’re just a LIAR
3
Roderick Barclay LIAR!
3
Roderick Barclay “I’m a balif” LMAO! LIAR!
3
Smiley Jones And exactly how many people has he pulled over that we’re going in excess of 34 mph over the speed limit? What your ignorant ass doesn’t understand is that 89 in a 70mph zone is one thing while 89 in a 55mph zone is completely different. 89 in a 70 zone isn’t an arrest-able offense, but the as$hole was doing 89 in a 55 zone
3
Smiley Jones Learn the laws sweetheart. Not every speeding ticket warrants jail time, but 34 mph OVER the posted speed limit does. https://www.drivinglaws.org/resources/traffic-tickets/speed-violations/south-carolina-speeding-laws.h
3
Roderick Barclay You tried to claim I was a racist about a dozen times sweetheart. And now you’re trying to claim you never mentioned race?????? LMAO!
3
Roderick Barclay You also claimed you never said anything about “Race” LIAR! You also said you were a “Balif” LIAR. So tell me, Pumpkin, what makes me a racist? The fact that I believe anyone caught committing an arrestable offense should be arrested regardless of the color of their skin? Is that what makes me a racist?
3
Roderick Barclay Wrong sweetheart, the cop was not fired for unequal treatment of speeders, he was fired because they claimed he arrested him ONLY because he was in the NFL. Even IA said race had nothing to do with it, and never did IA say his termination was due to inconsistency.......Only you said that. You can make an argument that the officer was too aggressive and that’s fine because that’s what he was fired for, but to make ignorant claims that the driver should’ve never been arrested for committing an arrestable offense BECAUSE he is black makes you a racist. Why should this black man be allowed to commit a crime that any other person would be arrested for??? Why should any man? That is the question you keep dodging Princess
3
Roderick Barclay Because you never can support your lies. Regardless of why he was fired, why are you dodging the question of why he should NOT have been arrested? No one but you and your racist Libtard friends are claiming the man shouldn’t have been arrested for committing an arrestable offense. So please explain yourself and explain why this man should be free to break any law he sees fit, what makes him so special??
3
AA A3 No, any white person doing 35 mph over the speed limit is also an as$hole and deserves to go to jail. There is NO such thing as “White Privilege”
3
AA A3 Great rebuttal!! Were you on the Debate Team? LMAO!
3
Jason Domina Yup! You arrest people going 34 mph over the speed limit and you do not arrest those obeying the law. Very simple
3
debbie foster Who was going 34 mph over the speed limit that the Trooper let go??????? And how did you come about this information? Please Cite your source
2
Roderick Barclay No, while admitting that we all speed, I clearly stated that someone speeding in excess of 34 mph is an a$shole! And I stand by that remark. There is a huge difference between going 5 mph over and 34 mph hour sweetheart
2
Roderick Barclay “Nowhere intelligent to go with their argument”??? Says the guy claiming to be a “Balif” when you can’t even spell “Bailiff”. You’re a LIAR! Point blank Princess
2
Roderick Barclay Yeah OK Mr. “Balif” LMAO!
2
Roderick Barclay Mr. LIAR!!! How sad is your life that you have to lie about being a “Balif”?? If your going to lie why not lie about being something worth lying about??? Not a measly “Balif” LMAO. That’s just so sad sweetheart......A “Balif”?? Really?
2
Roderick Barclay You misspelled “Balif” more then once, misspelled it the same Wrong way each time and you misspelled it exactly how you mispronounce it sweetheart. You can’t be a Bailiff if you do not know how to spell Bailiff cupcake. Again, you are a LIAR!
2
Roderick Barclay Just because you say you’re a “BALIF” doesn’t make it true either Princess.....especially since you can’t even spell “BAILIFF”.....LMAO! LIAR!
2
DearVaughn Where is your evidence that the taillights were OEM? Where is your evidence that the driver was Not going 89 mph? All you have is your assumptions, you assume the black guy is innocent because why? He’s black? Or he was stopped by a cop? Who else is going to stop him sweetheart? Hate cops all you want. Hate Trump all you want, but before you claim either one is wrong you need to bring more to the table then just childish assumptions Princess
2
DearVaughn He misspelled Bailiff at least a dozen times.....even YOU took 15 seconds to google it to check the proper spelling......Didn’t you?
2
Roderick Barclay My source is the Officer on the seen, since he has done extensive training in judging speed using only visual indicators and was literally viewing the taillights from inches away. Who are you to say the taillights were OEM when you have never seen them??? Who are you to say that the driver wasn’t going 89 mph since you’ve never undergone training nor were you there??? OH! Wait! That’s right you’re a “BALIF”. LMAO!
2
Roderick Barclay But I thought you said the driver wasn’t speeding Princess. I thought you said the taillights WERE OEM cupcake! Now you’re contradictions yourself.....Oh and btw I’m going to have to ask you to cite your source as it’s already been proven that you’re a LIAR!
2
Roderick Barclay Why don’t you just cite your source cupcake? So I can read EXACTLY what you did.
