So from this I take it that you have no clue about "ISLAND AUSTRALIA ALONE"
This talks about what if Australia lost all import and export.
Drilled and capped oil can last up to 60 years, key point we import oil now because it's cheap. But when the world is on the brink of running out of oil, we will uncap it. (NOTE: OPC uses the gas to get the oil out and burns it off, we don't, we sell and export the gas then cap it., later we will need to pump the oil out.)
Australia can last up to 60 years cut off from the rest of the world, but if you take oil out of the picture, Australia can remain cut off for 100's of years, All items we import can be made in Australia.
At the same time the rest of the world would start to slowdown without the exports from Australia. When China stopped the ships before we sold all the exports to other countries for the same money. Wine only gets taken out of the cask when we have a sale for it, till then it's aged.
Jobs lost in the export markett would be replaced by new jobs making things we now import. We would make cars, TV's ect in Australia again.
