  2. Australia drinking age was 21 in 1914 at the start of WW1, The Police had the view if you could go in the army and off to war at 18 then you could drink. The Police were right in thinking that way and it pushed the drinking down to 18. No member of the Australian Army or Navy was charged for under aged drinking, unless that person was drunk and going on like dickhead, but that was not about age, just being a drunk dickhead.
