And no, you absolutely, categorically should not have put a comma after 'be' and it's pretty weird that you think you should have. You should, however, have said "knowledge of grammar", rather than "knowledge in". Moreover, despite your bizarre protestations to the contrary, by no stretch of the imagination are your grammar and punctuation better than mine. Bless
