  4. Did anyone notice the pittee's tail? His tail was almost always down, even when wagging. Only time it was not down, but horizontal was when he was being very active. This is the kind of pittee I want to adopt. You want to be careful about adopting a pittee whose tail is almost always up, almost vertical, either rigid, or wagging rapidly but narrowly., even when doing nothing. This is a sign of a pittee that is unstable, and high strung. Chances are you won't change these pittees, and you will risk getting mauled in the future.

  5. The doggie's tail is usually down, sometimes even when he's running. This is a sign of friendly, stable dog. About the only time the tail was either horizontal or vertical was when the doggie was running, and even then it was wagging broadly, not narrowly. A dog whose tail is up, either rigid or wagging rapidly, but narrowly is a sign of high strung, unstable dog.

  8. I've had a Japanese bobtail for 2 years before I had to put him down due to medical issues; the happiest 2 years of my life. I was 40 years old, and she was 1 and 1/2 when I adopted her.

  17. Strange; most pitbulls at my local shelter are not safe. I know wiener dogs can snap and so can Yorkie. Golden and Lab retrievers are not as friendly as some people might think, either. However, no dog is more likely to snap and attack as relentlessly as pitbull. In Omaha, most pitbulls I saw at the shelter are not safe. Some are downright aggressive, relentlessly at all comers, even others that are not that aggressive, carry tail high and stiff all the time: time bombs. I see maybe one or up to 3 at one time pitbulls that are not aggressive, and not surprisingly those pitbulls don't stay at the shelter too long, usually gone in less than a week or at most, with 3 weeks. Most pitbull at this shelter are long term residents; not adoptable, but only kept alive for this shelter to keep 'No Kill' status, so that they keep getting funding from pitbull advocate organizations. So the pitbulls that used to be put down because they are not adoptable are kept alive, and as a result, bad pitbulls keep accumulating. A pittee whose tail is mostly up, vertical, either rigid, or wagging rapidly, but narrowly, even when doing nothing is a high strung, unstable pittee. Virtually, all the pittees involved in unprovoked fatal mauling of people are high strung, unstable, even when they are 'friendly'.

  34. Noodle's ears are not curled back at all; this is a sign of a dog not eager to please, but feels entitled. His tail is never down, but up sometimes. A sign of a dog that is not laid back; even she describes him as 'trigger' prone. This dog is a time bomb, not safe.

  36. Koby is ok as a pet, but there are safer pitbulls out there. The safest pitbulls carry their tails low, most times, 100% when they are stationary. They will carry tail low even when they are doing zoomies, most times. What makes Koby safer than some other pitbulls is the pupil; Koby's pupils are almost fully contracted even under bright ambient lights. Pitbulls carrying their tails high most times, even when they are stationary, and have diluted pupils even under bright ambient lights are not safe; they are time bombs.

  37. Magnnolia's tail was never up. She was never truly an aggressive dog, but fear aggressive dog. She had her tail down even when she was barking/baring teeth! She was never truly dangerous. Truly dangerous dogs have tail up most of times, when they are aggressive. Truly dangerous dogs, as opposed to fear aggressive dogs cannot be cured, using positive reinforcement. Only way to cure truly dangerous dogs is to beat them into submission when they get aggressive; get them tail curled between legs, pancake, belly to the bottom. Do this while showing a certain item, and/or playing a certain kind of music, so that the aggressive dog will remember the beating, and associate the beating with those items and/or music, and the dog's aggression, immediately prior to the beating. Beating an aggressive dog into submission is legal so long as it's performed while the dog is attacking. The methods shown in this video does not work with the truly aggressive dogs. Now, the dog below had been given baclofen, so she looks passive/docile.   43. Why was he in the bathtub when moaning? I did notice his tail was not up even when doing zoomies. That's a sign of stability. When adopting pitties, one's gotta be careful. When a pittie's tail is up even when the dog is not doing anything, that's a sign of high strung dog that could mean trouble in the future. You want the tail down even when wagging, as much as possible from a pittee. That's a sign of calm, and stable pittee. Btw. I intend to use the bathub as a crate for the dog (most likely a pittee) I'm going to adopt, combined with doggie gate, spring compression mounted on the top of the bathtub, with a lockable door.
