  1. Dear Metatron, I love your videos and learned a few, so please don't consider me as a troll. I'm just offering objective constructive criticism. On the use of bokken as a weapon in the battlefield, Samurais moonlighting as pirates did use bokken. My speculating is obviously bokken is going to be lighter, also far more rust resistant, water resistant if oiled/lacquered/dried properly as well. Of course, cheaper and more expandable/disposable as well. Like you said, katana was not a primary weapon, so it makes even more sense for the samurai/pirates to use bokken instead of katana on their raid/expedition.
