  2. I don't like some of Erdogan's policies, but I can see why he's doing it. One policy that I think is no one else's fault but his, is his refusal to raise the interest rates. One thing that I disagree is that NATO is not his only security: Putin is also. Any coup attempts against Erdogan can only come from with U.S. approval, if that coup fizzles and turns into a civil war, Erdogan cannot count on NATO for survival. Would Putin come to help Erdogan? Most certainly YES! I understand Putin likes to play macho, but Erdogan is taller: They might end up finally, hugging and kissing.

In fact, EU might not exist in a few years: There's no economically sustainable alternative to Russian gas and oil for EU. People are getting sidetracked by grand strategically irrelevant events within Ukraine: No matter how many battles Ukraine wins, it will not change energy driven strategic calculus. ROK is expected to surpass U.S. in GDP by 2050 (ROK GDP has grown about 458-fold since 1960: U.S. about 48-fold) In Bloomberg, innovative country index, U.S. has fallen from #1 to #13 in about 20 years or so: ROK has risen from who knows how low to #1.
