PRC doesn't have long shelf life; ROK expects PRC to collapse by 2050. Its economic foundation is on sand pits, just like the Soviet Union in 70s. Why I don't worry about ROC/Taiwan at all. If PRC were to invade and occupy Taiwan, U.S. simply could lay mines around Taiwan. PRC garrison would not be able to be supplied through sea. That means PRC garrison would have to be supplied through air! Very expensive occupation: PRC would bleed to death, at a minimal cost to U.S. This would just quicken the collapse of PRC. With the collapse of PRC, China would disintegrate into multiple warlords run quasi-states, would that be such a bad thing for U.S.?
