It will take at least 2 years for the Ukrainian pilots to be trained, and most likely another year before they would be ready for the best of the Russian AF. Not only that the impact of F-16 (if the war lasted that long) would be minimal; Ukrainians would have to build air bases closer to the border to make the maximum use of F-16, but the Russians already know the most likely location for the would be bases, close to the major highway/railroad. They would bomb the fuck out of them before they are even built. This means the Ukrainians will have to build the bases far away from the border. This will increase the response time, and much of the fuel would be depleted. Russians also could have their version of 'coast watcher' to see the F-16 taking off, alerting the Russian AF. By the time, F-16 engage the Russian AF, they would be lower on fuels than the Russian AF, who would have bases far closer to the border than the Ukrainians. This means the Russian AF could perform far more evasive maneuvers than F-16, giving them the advantage; evasive maneuvers take a lot of fuel.

@DoctorMangler Putin's real goal is to use Ukraine as a bait to 'bleed' the West, leading to the weakening, even collapse of NATO/EU, and weakening of USD, so as to weaken the borrowing capacity of USD overseas, so as to weaken U.S. ability to wage 'forever wars'.

@DipaTarigan Stop being pedantic; it was a war between U.S. and Serbia. My comment was directed at ''U.S. had to occupy an entire country to win a war.'' U.S. didn't occupy Serbia to win the war. Btw. I had opposed U.S. intervention in Serbia/Yugoslavia.

@bracoop2 No, Ukrainians, but training them to fly will take at least 2 years, and further training to take on the best of the Russian AF will be another, so total 3 years, by then the war might as well be over. Not only that, it will not make as much difference as many think. They will have to build the bases far away from the border, and the Russians have Zircon, that they can launch anywere in Ukraine. So the Russians will harass them building the bases, further delaying the deployment. So the response time will be slow, and when they engage the Russians, the fuel will be lower, meaning not as many evasive maneuvers as the Russian AF could.

They are still utilized on the assumption that USAF will use F-22 and F-35 for air superiority. They are not meant to be used alone without F-22 and 35. @johnrivera3365 Actually, the Soviets experimented with 'flying tank', a tank version of hovercraft; it didn't work. But who knows what lies in the future.

@illuminati2341 F-16 is meant to work in conjunction with F-22 and F-35; what's the chance Biden will share with the Ukrainians? Just imagine F-22 or 35 shot down, the pilot captured by the Russains! MIC will shudder.

Putin's real goal is to use Ukraine as a bait to suck the West and make them 'bleed' to the point of severely weakening NATO/Eu to the point of disintegration, and weakening USD to weaken USD's capability to borrow overseas to discourage U.S. from waging 'forever wars'.
